Japan Earthquake Measuring 7.8 Magnitude Rocks Bonin Islands, No Tsunami Threat.
A huge earthquake measuring 7.8 in magnitude has struck off the coast of Japan, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake struck off Japan’s Bonin Islands but tremors were felt around the country including in Tokyo.
CNN’s Tokyo correspondent Will Ripley tweeted: “Strong #earthquake right now in #Tokyo. Earthquake alarms going off at the gym.”
He added that there were no immediate signs of structural damage from the quake.
