Information Technology: Research explores the role of advanced information technologies at the ‘fuzzy’ front-end of service innovation and design. Service researchers have been exploring the application of technology to services for a while, however there has been little attention paid to the use of technology at the front-end of service innovation and design. Research suggests that advanced information technologies should be useful in research and development for services; but how this may occur has not been explored. Bringing together design thinking and the technology–organization–environment framework for technology adoption this research develops propositions for research to expose how technology can advance and transform service innovation and design. Theoretical and practical research questions are offered to guide inquiry in this emerging research space Advanced Technology ...

Esri a prominent GIS company, published a whitepaper in late 2014 that commented on the growing use of 3D tools in GIS applications. The paper states, “Just a few years ago, it was sufficient to have your city charted in only two dimensions However, the reality is the world exists in three dimensions. 2D 3D Today’s urban planners are now challenged to map, understand, and analyze their cities in three dimensions. Many 3D applications, such as building shadowing or storm water runoff ...

With Misbah and Younis bowing out together, it is only fitting to conclude our countdown with a glance at what those two, as a pair, provided to Pakistan cricket. It is easy to see why they are feted as they are: they have combined for 3213 runs when batting together, averaging 68.36. That is the highest aggregate for any batting combination in Pakistan's history. Even more illuminating is when you isolate the number of runs they scored in partnerships in Test matches Pakistan won. That adds up to 1613 runs at an astonishing average of 89.61, once more the highest aggregate Pakistan cricket can boast of. In short, if you needed Pakistan to make runs that helped them win Test matches, Misbah and Younis batting together was the answer.

Grades are Just Letters My suggestion is to stop thinking about classes in terms of grades and degrees. Think of school as just one facet of the larger self-education in your life. Find reasons to learn information for its own sake, instead of just to pass the class. While this may sound obvious, I believe it is the most important tip on this list and the one few people actually use. Study to learn, not just to pass.

.: How to Memorize – Practice Recalling not Repeating:. This is the crucial concept of any type of memorization. The act of reading something you want to memorize fires different connections than the act of recalling. This is how you learn to memorize–your practice recalling, not repeating. This means that simply reading a particular piece of text over and over again is going to be the long road to memorization. You need to let your brain practice recalling the data so it can strengthen the same pathways that will fire when you need to remember the information later on. You can’t practice recalling until the information is at least partially contained in your short term memory.

Basics of Map Coordinate Systems Peter DeCurtins take an introductory look at a few common ways to model the shape of the earth, reference geographic location, and represent geographic information with map. Part of our Whiteboard Bloggers Series. Geoid : C.F. Gauss, who first described it, called it the “mathematical figure of the Earth”. It is a smooth but highly irregular surface that can be derived only through extensive gravitational measurements and calculations. This gravity-defined equipotential surface theoretically would coincide with the mean ocean surface of the Earth, if the oceans and atmosphere were in equilibrium, at rest relative to the rotating Earth, and the seas extended through the continents (such as with a series of very narrow canals). The geoid is a much closer approximation of the true shape of the Earth than any reference ellipsoid could provide. Reference Ellipsoid : A mathematically-defined surface that approximates the geoid. Because it is an i...
